The journalist Ignacio “Nacho” Gutiérrez recalled the difficult moment that Patricio Herrera, the partner of the late journalist Ítalo Passalacqua, lived through, when the former SQP panelist suffered an accident in 2014 that left him hospitalized for months, assuring that due to this, Herrera ended up with serious financial problems.
Gutiérrez spoke with Fran Sfeir on the program no fault of TV+ on the weekend, where they began to talk regarding marriage. Thus, the communicator acknowledged that the reasons why he decided to get married was to be able to establish their relationship in official documents.
“The reason for getting married was not romantic, it was a legal issue. Because because of an X issue, Rodrigo ended up in the clinic, they had made him sleep and they told me well, you have to do some tests, and they tell me: ‘You can’t sign’”, he recalled.
Thus, both spoke regarding the invisibility of homosexual couples, to which Sfeir recalled Ítalo Passalacqua, whose relationship was kept secret for years.
As a result of that, Gutiérrez then recalled an episode “that had a great impact on me” with Patricio Herrera in 2014.
“I’m leaving the channel and I met a person that I did not recognize. And he approaches me and says: ‘Hi Ignacio, don’t you know who I am? I am the Duck, I am Ítalo’s couple ‘”, he began narrating.
Entonces, Passalacqua had suffered a car accident in the commune of La Reina which left him hospitalized for several months. “Ítalo was unconscious in the clinic, I remember that he was in the Catholic”, recalled Gutiérrez.
“It turns out that since Ítalo had a different company name as a person and ‘they were not together’, They didn’t pay his salary.”he explained, assuring that, being unconscious, Herrera had not been able to access his partner’s money, with which they both managed.
“Ítalo was passionate regarding his family, regarding Pato, regarding his dogs, regarding his people and at that moment I managed to enter the channel with Pato, talk to one of the managers, who kindly managed to unblock the fact. But the Duck had no money to eat”he then explained.
It should be noted that Passalacqua and Herrera signed the Civil Union Agreement in 2015, three years before the journalist died.
