Today, Tuesday, Iran reopened its embassy in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, months following the two countries agreed, with Chinese mediation, to end a years-long diplomatic dispute.
And as a continuation of the efforts aimed at restoring Saudi-Iranian relations, Iran reopened the headquarters of its embassy to Saudi Arabia in the capital, Riyadh, in a step that complements the process of implementing bilateral agreements between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Representatives of the Saudi and Iranian foreign ministries attended the inauguration at the Iranian embassy, which had been closed for years following it was recently fully restored.
This step came following Iranian media announced that a high-ranking diplomat, Ali Reza Enayati, would be the new ambassador to Riyadh.
The opening also came three months following the signing of the Saudi-Iranian agreement to resume diplomatic relations between them under Chinese auspices.

Also, following the two countries exchanged, last April, a visit by two technical delegations in order to discuss the issue of reopening embassies.
A diplomatic source in Riyadh stated that the reopening of the Iranian embassy will take place on Tuesday at 6:00 pm local time (15:00 GMT) in the presence of the designated Iranian ambassador to Saudi Arabia. According to what was quoted by Agence France-Presse.
The former embassy building, which had been closed for years, was reopened following it was recently fully restored.
This step came following Tehran appointed, last month, a high-ranking diplomat, Ali Reza Enayati, as the new ambassador to the Kingdom. Enayati currently holds the position of Deputy Foreign Minister following he was ambassador to Kuwait during the era of former Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
It also came following the two countries exchanged, last April, a visit of two technical delegations in order to discuss the issue of reopening embassies.
