A tense live exchange starred the general secretary of the UDI, María José Hoffmann, and the socialist deputy Nelson Venegas.

In a new edition of Without filtersthe former parliamentarian pointed to the Minister of Education, Marco Antonio Ávila.

“This has been one of the worst ministers, highly protected by the government, and it’s hard for me to know why”exposed Pepa.

For its part, the legislator clarified that “The serious problem in Chile is education and it has to do with inequity, with inequality. Poor children receive a subsidy that is not enough to solve the problems”.

It was in this context that Hoffmann asked him regarding his children’s education: “Do you have children in municipal school?”.

“They already left school”clarified the PS deputy, starting a tense moment on the screen.

Pepa Hoffmann: And did you have them in the municipal school?

Nelson Venegas: No, that’s why it hurts.

Pepa Hoffmann: Ah, ok… ya, listo.

Nelson Venegas: It hurts me because it turns out that they have better education. The problem in Chile is that the vast majority of the poorest children have an education that is worse than the other.

Then, the parliamentarian explained that “what I wanted to point out, regarding sexuality, is that some seem to be so afraid of it, I want to tell them that in the popular sectors, boys and girls get pregnant at 16 years of age, so that is what happens in the real world, not in the points that you surely visit daily”.

“How is sexual education not going to be necessary, María José?” the deputy asked Hoffmann.

“Obviously, there are problems in what you propose, but I am left with the priorities of a country. We have to be able to talk regarding all the topics, but When we have serious health problems, it seems to me that it is a priority that is a little backwards”, clarified the representative of the UDI.
