“My liberation victory for science and, above all, for the truth”. In her first public words following being released from prison following spending 20 years in prison, the Australian Kathleen Folbigg expressed her “relief and gratitude” for the decision of Justice and the support of her family and friends.
Folbigg is now 55 years old. She had been sentenced in 2003 to 30 years in prison for the murder of three of his children and the involuntary manslaughter of the fourth. The case was reviewed and a recent investigation led by former Australian High Court member Thomas Bathurst gathered evidence showing that the boys died from genetic disorders or mutations.
