The use of Artificial intelligence by companies in the United States was the reason why many people lost their jobs. The information comes from Challenger, Gray & Christmas, which showed the result through a report. As a result, around 3,900 employees lost their jobs during the month of May.

This result ended up placing justification as the seventh villain cited by employers as reasons for job loss. By the way, the total layoffs in May are representations of a 20% jump that occurred compared to the previous month. Furthermore, if compared to the same period in 2022, the situation is even more remarkable.

That’s because the number of unemployed people has reached four times at the same time during the past year. Despite being the first time that artificial intelligence appears as a reason for dismissal, it is not new that this type of technology has the potential to put people out of work.

Still on this, it is worth remembering a survey carried out recently that talks regarding the regulation of generative AI that has almost 60% of British supporters. This concern arises in the face of a scenario in which 300 million jobs might be affected by this scenario.

Be that as it may, even though there are positive aspects of the use of AI in the most diverse areas and even some curious actions, such as the proposal for cameras without lenses, it is still necessary to remain attentive to the use of technology. After all, even fictional country duos are coming to life thanks to the resource.
