The Russian Defense Ministry said early Tuesday that it had thwarted all attempts by Ukrainian forces to advance in the Donetsk region, inflicting heavy casualties on Ukrainian forces and destroying eight Leopard tanks, as Ukrainian forces continued to fight.

Also, it added that the total number of Ukrainian soldiers killed reached 1,500.
