Amazon: a mobile plan included in the Prime subscription?
The rumor was launched by the American media Bloomberg: discussions are underway between Amazon and certain American operators. Verizon, T-Mobile or even AT&T and Dish Network have been cited. Objective: to find a deal that might change the game for Amazon Prime.
The idea, according to information from Bloomberg, will be to add to the Prime subscription… a mobile phone offer. Currently, Prime allows you to benefit from free and fast delivery, as well as access to the Seattle giant’s video and music streaming offers. Adding a telephony offer might complete the whole thing.
Inexpensive packages… or even free ones?
Nothing has been decided or announced, and the project might just be a false rumor. But the concept would have enough to attract new customers. Amazon might offer low-cost plans, a few dollars, or even potentially completely free under conditions. Especially since the giant has increased its prices: in the United States, Prime costs 139 dollars per year. In France, it displays 69.90 euros, almost half less.
But will he ever see the light of day? Amazon like the operators concerned did not confirm the information from Bloomberg. On the contrary: the discussions would not have taken place, they claim. Truth or way to drown the fish so that another giant does not think of doing the same thing?
An Amazon mobile offer possible in France?
Assuming that Amazon’s project is real, customers will have to wait several more months before official announcements. And we’re only talking regarding American customers. Because Amazon is not an operator, the group must necessarily rely on a mobile operator to offer such a subscription.

In the United States, mobile plans are very expensive: four to five times more. For a subscription with 5 GB of data, it costs more than 50 dollars per month in the best case. In France, these same subscriptions only cost a few euros, the French benefit from prices among the lowest in industrialized countries.
