Alex Palou (Chip Ganassi) won the Detroit Grand Prix, the 7th round of the IndyCar championship of which he is more than ever the leader, on Sunday in Michigan where he beat Will Power (Penske) and Felix Rosenqvist (McLaren).

The Spaniard pulled out of the game following a rather crazy race in the streets of “Motor City”, to add a sixth victory to his record, the second of the season.

“I’m super proud of the work we’ve done,” said Palou, who started on pole and now leads the overall standings with a 51-point lead over his teammate Marcus Ericsson.

Winner of the championship in 2021, Palou managed to keep the controls despite two late red flags, following accidents. In total, 8 of the 27 drivers entered did not finish the race.
