It turned out that the soldier, called Muhammad Salah Ibrahim, was 23 years old, and he was serving in the military in the Sinai region, from the Ain Shams region, east of Cairo. He loved travel, drawing, trips, and reading.
And on his page on the social networking site “Facebook”, it was the last post of the Egyptian soldier, where he wrote, “Oh God, just as you reformed the righteous, reform me and make me one of them.”
The Egyptian military spokesman had announced the details of the operation that took place on the border with Israel, where he said that at dawn on Saturday, one of the security personnel in charge of securing the international border line was chasing drug smuggling elements, and during the chase the security personnel breached the security barrier and exchanged fire, which led to an exchange of fire. This resulted in the death of 3 Israeli soldiers and the wounding of 2 others, in addition to the death of the Egyptian security personnel during the exchange of fire.
The Egyptian military spokesman stated that all search, inspection and insurance measures are being taken for the area, as well as taking legal measures regarding the incident.
The Israeli army said it was investigating the circumstances of the incident in cooperation with the Egyptian army.
