Life first tested Mamta in the form of cancer. After surviving cancer, Mamta is now facing another health problem. Mamta opens her mind regarding all this in an interview given to Mahilaratnam.
Mamta replies to the question that there will be another marriage. It’s been nine years since we broke up. I don’t even think regarding marriage. Now I have my parents for help. Have many friends. Mamta’s reply is that whatever has to happen in life, let it happen.
Mamta also talks regarding the mental pain during cancer. He was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 24. It was not the bold Mamta of today. I was a girl who did not experience any freedom, free surroundings. I didn’t give my body any rest today. He was always up and running. Mamta remembers that she acted in run-of-the-mill films.
But Mamta says that the severity of the disease began to haunt her as the days went by. After a year, it reached a state where I might not hold on anymore. When I asked the doctor, he said that he might do a transplant. The doctor replied to Mamta that if the cancerous part is changed, there will be no problem. But it ended in failure.
This made the disease worse. But finally a miracle happened, says Mamta. In 2014, he went to a clinic in America for treatment. New country, new doctors, new challenges, Mamta finally won. Mamta is free from cancer and returns home as a new person. Mamta talks regarding the pain and loneliness during treatment.
The pain experienced during the transplant was indescribable. Solitude within four walls. The body pain that was part of the treatment was also unbearable. After the transplant treatment, my health was strengthened. I gained confidence that I can go abroad alone for treatment. I was very poor before. I used to cry if someone touched me. It was so sensitive. Apart from that, today is very brave. Mamta asks if that is not a big deal.
