One of the biggest mergers in the history of the gaming industry is surrounded by many variables and attempts to circumvent the laws of an entire country

Microsoft is considering pulling Activision out of the UK market as a last resort to circumvent a deal blocking by the UK Markets and Competition Authority. It is reported by Bloomberg news agency.

Microsoft President Brad Smith will meet British Chancellor Jeremy Hunt next week to express his displeasure at the UK antitrust regulator’s decision to block a US$69 billion merger.

In addition to voicing his dissatisfaction with the British official, Mr. Smith will also hold several private meetings during which he will try to find creative and constructive ways to give the competition authority all the necessary guarantees to get approval for the merger with Activision Blizzard.

Smith has repeatedly and publicly criticized the decision of the British competition authority, which did not go over well with UK officials.

Care Activision Blizzard from the British market will force the company to look for an intermediary to continue activities in the country.
