This weekend from June 2 to June 4, 2023, resurfacing work is taking place on the E42 at exit no. 6 “Verviers-sud” towards Battice. The operations require the closure of this portion of the highway for just over 1 kilometer.
All this leads to changes in traffic conditions at this location. In concrete terms, motorway users are diverted via rue des Étangs and rue d’Ensival via the Amiral Brasseur-Kermadec roundregarding to reach the motorway entrance at Ensival.
Unfortunately, you have to be patient. This Saturday morning, we recorded no less than 1h15 minimum of traffic jams to reach Ensival. All the secondary roads joining the Ensival motorway entrance, in the center of Verviers, are saturated. Do not hesitate, if possible, to postpone your trip on this section of motorway or to take a much longer route via the E25 or the E40 if you have to reach Liège.
The Civil Protection is on the way to bring drinking water which will be distributed by the firefighters of the VHP Zone to motorists.
“We ask you to absolutely avoid the area and to respect the safety corridor allowing emergency vehicles to pass for interventions and distribute water to motorists” detail the firefighters.
