Harley-Davidson’s Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection: Introducing the Limited Edition Fast Johnnie Paint Design

2023-05-03 07:00:00

Harley-Davidson introduces the Fast Johnnie paint design to its Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection. The celestial blue color with white race stripes is intended to evoke the American muscle cars of the 1960s and 1970s. The special paintwork is offered for the Low Rider ST, the Street Glide ST and the Road Glide ST. Total production is limited to a maximum of 2000 units.

The “Fast Johnnie” symbol on the left side of the fuel tank is also found on the “Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle” factory motorcycles that compete in the Moto-America King of the Baggers series. It goes back to a piglet named Johnnie who was adopted in 1920 by Ray Weishaar, racer and member of what was then the HD factory racing team, known as the Wrecking Crew, and made the team’s mascot. After winning races, Johnnie went on the victory lap together with Ray on the tank of a racing machine. Hog, the English term for piglet, was transferred to the brand’s motorcycles over time.

On the tank and front fender of the Fast Johnnie models, the word “Harley-Davidson” replaces one of the thin stripes. Depending on the model, the stripes were applied to the front and rear fenders, the top and sides of the tank, the front of the fairing, and the side panels and trunks. The Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection logo can be found on the rear fender.

The Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST, Street Glide ST and Road Glide ST in the “Fast Johnnie” look cost 25,875 euros and 38,975 euros respectively (Austria: 31,315 euros and 47,595 euros). (awm)
