Guinea’s President Doumbouya attends Turkish President Erdogan’s investiture ceremony

The President of the Transition in Guinea, Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya, left Conakry on June 2, 2023 for Turkey where he was officially invited by his counterpart, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to attend his investiture ceremony scheduled for this Saturday June 3, 2023.

This is his first exit from the continent since taking power on September 5, 2021. In Africa, let us recall that the only official visit made until then by the Guinean Head of State was to Bamako during the celebration of the feast of independence was September 21, 2022.

This special invitation follows President Erdogan’s victory in the second round of the presidential election held on May 28 in Turkey.

For President Doumbouya, this invitation is an honor and a recognition of the friendship and solid relations that exist between Guinea and Turkey. It also testifies to the mutual consideration between the two countries and their common desire to strengthen bilateral ties in various fields, such as economy, security and partnership in innovative technologies.

The investiture ceremony of the Turkish number 1 is of great importance for Turkey, marking the beginning of a new era. This historic event will bring together high-level personalities, leaders and government representatives from around the world.

If the Guinean President takes this opportunity to congratulate Erdogan on his re-election, it is also a boon for him to meet his peers at this almost global event.
