If solar energy is already promised a bright future, researchers continue to try to make the technology even more efficient. The future of photovoltaic panels might go through perovskite, which, in theory, offers some nice gains in terms of efficiency.
Why is this important?
With the transition accelerating, no one is saying no to efficiency gains in renewables, and more particularly in solar. Another fact to consider is the outrageous dominance of China in production. So, if a technology allows the panels to produce more electricity and to gain market share for European companies, inevitably, that is of interest. In the news : a world record in Europe, an impressive figure in China.
- A few days ago, a British company announced that it had set a world efficiency record for a commercial-size solar cell.
- In the process, a Chinese photovoltaic giant indicated that it had designed a research cell with even more promising efficiency.
What are we talking regarding ?
Numbers : the best efficiency ever achieved for a cell d
