A Xiaomi has sad news for its users. Last Saturday (27), the Chinese giant announced the “End of Support” (EOS) for five smartphone models in its portfolio. This means that devices included in this list will simply lose support from the company and will no longer receive any updates to the Android operating system or improvements and security bug fixes.

Of the models mentioned, the most recent is the Mi Note 10 Lite, launched in April 2020 with Android 10 out of the box. Many people were disappointed with the news, as they expected the model to receive MIUI 14 before its support ended. Among its specifications, the device was equipped with the Snapdragon 730G processor, has a 6.47-inch AMOLED screen, 5,260 mAh battery and 64 MP triple camera.

The other models, that is, devices from the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9S line, lost support with the arrival of June. From now on, no updates will be performed. The last updates released for these devices were security-oriented, being made available in April and May 2023.

From the moment the company ends support for a given device, it becomes vulnerable to new bugs, security flaws and other problems that can affect the usability of the device. If your cell phone is on the list, Xiaomi’s recommendation is that you consider switching to a newer model that can offer you adequate security.
