This morning, before the Assize Court of Ghent, opened the trial of Jurgen D. tried for having killed his companion, Ilse Uyttersprot, the former mayor of Aalst, in August 2020.

The followingnoon of this first day of hearing was devoted to the interrogation of the accused. Before starting it, the president of the assize court spoke to the two sons of Ilse Uyttersprot.
