A real tragedy took place on the A59 near Sprang-Capelle, not far from the Efteling amusement park. A driver who was driving at 250 kilometers per hour was filming himself with his phone on the night of March 10.
He caused an accident involving four cars, relays Sudinfo. In one of them was a whole family. The parents, aged 46, with their children aged 13 and 10, did not survive.
The suspect, a 33-year-old man from Breda, was under the influence of alcohol. The investigators are trying, by analyzing the car’s on-board computer, to find out the exact speed at which the motorist was driving.
According to the prosecution, the driver made “no serious attempt to avoid a collision. He did not release the accelerator until the end of the video. He continued to accelerate until one second before the ‘accident”.
