life in space? In 2005, the Cassini spacecraft discovered 101 geysers on Saturn’s icy moon Enceladus. 18 years later, the James Webb Space Telescope has now delivered top images of the geysers erupting on Saturn’s moon.
As “National Geographic” reports, the eruptions should contain important building blocks of life. In addition, the spectrum of the sunlight reflected by Enceladus was examined.
In the process, evidence of all sorts of chemicals was discovered that might indicate potential life on Saturn’s moon. In addition to water, there were chemical compounds in the water column, for example. These indicate geological and biological activity in the moon’s ocean.
