This Friday, May 26, the Saint-Jean-de-la-Blaquière school and its director Charline Cortès welcomed astrophysicist Denis Puy and director of the Universe and Particles laboratory at the University of Montpellier, who came with a few telescopes and other observation gear.
“This intervention was requested by the school in addition to a year-round project concerning astronomy and the solar system”, explains the teacher. It allowed the students, around an in-depth session, to better understand the functioning of the universe and the planets. They were able to ask the astrophysicist questions regarding the phenomena that intrigued them and learned to observe the Sun and the Moon in a safe way.
The school of Saint-Jean and the schools of the intermunicipal educational group hope to be able to repeat the experience in the future. The students came out of this followingnoon enriched with new knowledge and passionate regarding the planets.
