Legendary series created by Hideo Kojima and founder of the infiltration genre, Metal Gear is regarding to return to the front of the stage with a highly anticipated remake of its third opus. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has been officially announced by Konami.
While the saga had been at the heart of all the rumors for several months, it was finally during the Playstation Showcase in May 2023 that Konami chose to reveal the development of Metal Gear Solid Delta : Snake Eater. The remake of the third installment in the series of Which oneswho has not worked at Konami since 2015, does not have an official release date for the moment, nor an announced platform, apart from the PS5.
A first trailer in CGI allows us on the other hand to discover the face of our good old Snake, and a particularly successful jungle setting. Remake requires, we should relive the same story as when the release of Metal Gear Solid 3 : Snake Eater. In this opus, we play Naked Snake, in the middle of the Cold War, while his mission is to free a genius Soviet engineer.
To achieve this, it will be necessary to face the mythical The Boss, Snake’s former master, now hired by the Soviets to lead an army of soldiers with supernatural powers. We imagine that the other secondary characters of the game will always be there, like Major Zero or even of Sigint.
Regarding the gameplay, we remain of course in a stealth gamewith in particular camouflage mechanicsbut with a survival dimension more pronounced, with the management of the care and weight of Snake’s bag… But we will have to wait for more details from Konami in the coming weeks to find out more.
