They will symbolically enter the stage of the clinical area, in which they will put their knowledge into practice.
Ciudad Juarez, Chih. (UACJ) – For the first time, 50 Surgeon students from the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) celebrated their ceremony of imposition of white coats as part of the transition to the rotating internship, which is the final stage of their training academic and in the first step of his professional life.
For one year, the students will integrate each knowledge under strict academic, scientific and human quality standards that they obtained in their previous school cycles, to apply them in the care of patients through the main specialties: internal medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, surgery General and emergencies.
The undergraduate interns will be distributed in various hospitals in the city, such as the General Regional Hospital No. 6 and 35 of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS); the General Hospital of Ciudad Juárez, the Family Hospital (FEMAP); the Specialty Medical Center; the Hospital Star Médica and the Hospital Poliplaza Médica.
The delivery of these badges, which represent the purity, responsibility, honesty and seriousness with which they must intervene and watch over the lives of human beings, was chaired by Dr. Jorge Ignacio Camargo Nassar, head of the Department of Health Sciences; Dr. Raúl Ayala Mendoza, coordinator of the Surgeon degree, as well as various UACJ professors.
“The day you set foot in the school, you became health educators for our Mexican brothers. That day I received them in the first semester, today we deliver them to society graduated, educated and with the commitment that we are all going to take care, as colleagues, of the health of our Mexican brothers. So, it is the least of you and I know that you are going to do it. I had them in the first semester, I had them in the tenth, we are completely different, you can see them, the way they speak, the way they reason, and I am pleased to be part of this,” reflected Dr. Pablo Barac Angulo Hernández, a professor at the Medicine program and godfather of the generation of May 2023.
For his part, Dr. Camargo Nassar urged the students to develop professional cooperation throughout their internship.
“You have to be condescending and show that you are the leaders, because that is what we want: that leaders come out here.”
He concluded by inviting the university community to “if you leave things to chance, nothing will ever happen, you have to dream your goals and say when you want to have them and start working with them.”
Family and friends accompanied their relatives in the imposition that took place this May 29 in the hall of the Professional Center for Engineers and Architects (CEPIA).
