The head of the commission, Ahmet Yanar, confirmed Erdogan’s victory in the run-off with 52.14 percent of the vote, which is the official result of the election.

US President Joe Biden congratulated Erdogan on his re-election. “I look forward to continuing to work together as two NATO allies on bilateral issues and shared global challenges,” Biden said on Twitter.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak congratulated Turkish President Erdogan on his re-election Sunday, stressing the ongoing security cooperation between the two countries.

“I congratulate (President Erdogan). I look forward to continuing the strong cooperation between our two countries, from growing trade to addressing security threats as NATO allies,” Sunak said on Twitter.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also congratulated Turkish leader Erdogan on his victory in the second round of the presidential elections on Sunday, praising the two countries’ relationship as “close partners and allies.”

“I congratulate President Erdogan. Together we want to advance our common agenda with new momentum,” Scholz said on Twitter.

Also, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky Sunday congratulated Erdogan on his re-election as president of Turkey, expressing his hope for “strengthening” relations between the two countries and “cooperating for the security and stability” of Europe.

“We hope to further strengthen the strategic partnership for the benefit of our two countries, as well as strengthen our cooperation for the security and stability of Europe,” Zelensky said on Twitter.

European Council President Charles Michel congratulated Turkish President Erdogan on his victory in the run-off of the Turkish presidential elections today, Sunday.
