“PM Modi Dedicates New Parliament Building to Nation Amid Opposition Boycott”

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the new Parliament building to the nation. The Prime Minister placed the scepter near the Lok Sabha Speaker’s seat. The ceremony was held during the boycott of the opposition parties. Homam was performed outside the new Parliament building at 7 am. An interfaith prayer was held in the Parliament lobby.

The scepter was handed over to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of the inauguration of the new Parliament building. Narendra Modi received the scepter from the priests of Tamil Nadu in a ceremony held at the Prime Minister’s residence. The scepter was handed over yesterday evening without prior announcement. The scepter exchange was accompanied by chants.

Meanwhile, the opposition parties have also announced that they will stay away from the inauguration ceremony. 19 parties including the Congress have announced that they will boycott the function. A joint statement was also issued in this regard. The opposition is boycotting the ceremony, alleging that it insults the office of the President.
