Inspectors will perform blood alcohol checks on anyone who holds an operational position with an impact on safety, such as pilots. A refusal or lack of cooperation will be considered a positive test.
Checks will start soon, probably before the start of the summer season.
Anyone with an alcohol concentration of at least 0.09 mg/l in exhaled alveolar air in a breath test, or at least 0.2 g/l in blood, is considered to be under the influence of alcohol.
In the event of a positive test, a report will be drawn up and sent to the public prosecutor. The offender will risk criminal prosecution and/or an administrative fine. The violation will also be reported to the authority that issued the pilot’s license.
