the video card AMD Radeon RX 7600 hit the market recently common problem in your reference design. The first analyzes pointed to a flaw in the fit some 6+2 pin power cables and the company promised to sort it out.

In response to TechPowerUP, which was among the first to report the issue, AMD stated that once the RX 7600 MBA design is released, it will accommodate all power cables. See the company’s statement in full below:

“We are very pleased with the volume of Radeon RX 7600 cards available globally from our AIB partners. We expect RX 7600 reference design cards to be available in the coming weeks with a design that accommodates all power cords.”

It is worth mentioning that the problem seems to affect only a few specific sources and this flaw was found in AMD’s reference model for the Radeon RX 7600 GPU, which is not yet available for purchase and was only sent to the press and analysts.

So far, there are no reports of the same problem with the Radeon RX 7600 produced by AMD’s partner companies.

As reported by TechPowerUp, this problem is on the 6+2 pin power cable, where the two different parts are prevented from fully fitting due to the backplate design of AMD’s reference Radeon RX 7600.

The fault does not happen with an 8-pin connector. About 20% of the sources tested by TechPowerUp are not compatible with AMD’s new GPU. This type of problem is, to say the least, curious, since these connectors have been on the market for many years.
