The mother of Théa, a two-year-old child, had entrusted the supervision of her little girl to her companion at the time, in their Namur apartment.

Injured in suspicious circumstances, the little girl was then transported to the hospital where she died a few days following her admission.

The man in charge of the victim was arrested shortly following his death, then charged with homicide.

After a conviction at first instance, the individual received a 15-year prison sentence on appeal.

Obviously thinking of escaping a potential sanction, the convict had gone into exile in his country of origin.

On the sidelines of the legal proceedings in Belgium, the mother of the victim seized the Moroccan justice of the file.

The individual was then arrested by the Moroccan police and imprisoned. During a first trial in Morocco, the accused was sentenced to 20 years in prison, reports L’Avenir.

His sentence was reduced to 15 years in prison at the end of an appeal trial which ended on Thursday, the group’s newspapers said on Saturday.
