Webinar: Modeling Battery Thermal Runaway with COMSOL Multiphysics®

2023-05-26 10:30:29

Due to their high energy density, long life and low self-discharge rate, lithium-ion batteries are the preferred choice for electric and hybrid vehicles, energy storage systems and electronics. General public. One of the major safety issues with lithium-ion batteries is thermal runaway and its cascading effects throughout the battery pack. To predict thermal runaway, it is necessary to take into account different physical phenomena by adopting a multiphysics modeling approach.

In this webinar in free access organized on Thursday June 22 of 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.we will present the modeling capabilities of COMSOL Multiphysics® and see how multiphysics simulation can help you accurately model cells and battery packs, predict thermal runaway, and design optimized thermal management systems for battery packs. You will be able to ask all your questions during the presentation.

INSCRIPTION

The COMSOL Multiphysics simulation platform® and the Battery Design module offer dedicated tools for the construction of detailed models of cells and battery packs, involving physical phenomena such as electrochemistry and transport of species in the cell, heat transfer at the scale of the cell and the pack, the flow of fluids in the cooling system of the battery pack or even the mechanics of the structures.

This webinar will be recorded and available in archive on our website the day following the event.
