A new glitch in Tears of the Kingdom lets you double items even faster. We’ll show you how it works and what you need for it.

Tears of the Kingdom: Doubling items is even faster – How to use the shield glitch
You need this for the new glitch: For the new glitch to double your items you actually only need a shield. You must also have updated Tears of the Kingdom to version 1.1.1. Then all you have to do is choose the item you want to duplicate in Tears of the Kingdom.

How to double your items: In order to double your items, you have to start skating in Tears of the Kingdom. Equip your shield, hold ZL, press X and A to skate, and while mid-air pause the game. Then you need a single item and the item you want to duplicate.
- Equip Shield
- Hold ZL, press X, then A and pause in the air
- Choose an item in your inventory that you only have 1 of and pick it up (it must be in the inventory before the item you want to duplicate)
- Choose the item you want to duplicate and pick up as many of them as you can (maximum 4) – see image below
- Leave the inventory, press B in the air to put away the shield and collect the items once more
This is important: If you want to duplicate an item in Tears of the Kingdom with the new glitch, you must have a second item in hand. This item must be in the inventory before the item to be duplicated and you may only own one piece of it. Otherwise the glitch won’t work. Also remember to put away the shield while it’s still in the air, otherwise it will break following a while if you keep landing on the ground.
How to keep the glitch: If you want to make sure you can keep the glitch for doubling items in Tears of the Kingdom, there is a simple way. Go to the system settings of your Nintendo Switch and navigate to “console“. There you canAutomatic software updates” turn off. In case you forgot, you can still use the second trick for doubling items in Tears of the Kingdom as long as it is not removed.
