Dakar, May 27 (APS) – The State is mobilizing all the teams of the Senegal Digital company to allow users of institutional sites to access online services, victims of a DDOS attack at the start of the evening to saturate the bandwidth, learned the government’s APS.
The hacker group “The Mysterious Team” said on social networks that they attacked the websites of public services.
“After verification, it is a computer attack called DDOS, said government spokesman Abdou Karim Fofana.
In a statement sent to APS, Mr. Fofana explained that this is a “computer attack that consists of overwhelming with massive amounts of traffic by saturating the bandwidth of the resource of the attacked site”.
“The actors of this attack pretend to be the group of hackers + Anonymous +, known to have reached other state infrastructures in the world”, continued the same source.
Several websites of different institutions in Senegal, including that of the Presidency of the Republic, were difficult to access early Friday evening.
Abdou Karim Fofana assured that the company Senegal Digital (SENUM SA) responsible for managing the Gouv.sn domain, has mobilized all its teams to allow users to access online services as soon as possible.
