For the 15th time, Volkshilfe NÖ / SERVICE MENSCH GmbH invited its long-standing employees to a boat trip through the Wachau following a break due to the pandemic. All those who have been loyal to her for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or even 30 years or are retiring spent an enjoyable evening on the MS Wachau.
WACHAU/MISTELBACH DISTRICT. More than 120 jubilarians, pensioners and their partners accepted the invitation and celebrated together on the Danube ship. As a token of their gratitude, they received an exclusive writing set, a badge of honor and a certificate of honor from the hands of State Councilor Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig, Volkshilfe President Prof. Ewald Sacher and Managing Director Gregor Tomschizek. The Vice Presidents Heidemaria Onodi, Holger Linhart and Hannes Eblinger also congratulated them warmly. Many honorary district chairmen and representatives of the works council, including chairwoman Doris Wietter-Bemoussa, paid tribute to those celebrating their anniversaries and pensioners.
“We use the anniversary cruise to focus on our employees, who have been doing dedicated work in care and childcare for many years,” says President Ewald Sacher, explaining the importance of the anniversary cruise, “our qualified nurses, ergo – and physiotherapists, nursing and nursing assistants as well as home helpers are important pillars in mobile care, as are our kindergarten teachers and their team in the area of childcare and the colleagues in the area of work & integration and administration.

“No matter what area our employees work in, they make an important contribution to our society every day,” emphasizes Gregor Tomschizek, Managing Director of Volkshilfe NÖ, “they ensure that people can live at home even in old age, and that parents know their children are well cared for when they go to work. Every single one of our employees helps people who need our support and for that we are very grateful.”
The past few years have presented many employers with particular challenges, and the current situation continues to do so. “We are therefore all the more pleased that our employees particularly appreciate Volkshilfe Lower Austria as an employer,” informs authorized representative Maria Panzenböck-Stockner, “they gave us an excellent reference in the current employee survey.”
The non-profit operating company SERVICE MENSCH GmbH, a subsidiary of Volkshilfe Lower Austria, currently employs more than 1,500 women and men. They work in the areas of mobile care & support, kids & family, work & integration and administration.
