Our railways are generally renowned for their small punctuality problems, but sometimes, despite disruptions, the trains leave on time. This Friday morning a little before 6:00 a.m., during an empty rallying journey on the line in Welkenraedt and Eupen, a train driver experienced a situation that was unusual to say the least when he saw a kangaroo on the rails.
As the train rolled along, the conductor suddenly noticed movement on the tracks. Intrigued, he slowed down and realized with amazement that a white coated kangaroo was standing there, hopping gracefully along the rails. The driver was able to capture this moment with his phone.
The train driver had to interrupt his journey and took the opportunity to take a selfie with the animal.
This is an unusual situation that we do not often encounter, and especially not with this animal, but fortunately the train, which came from Welkenraedt to take its service at Eupen station, was able to start on time to take its first travelers in the early morning, certainly leaving its driver and skipper a special memory

Faced with this unprecedented situation, railway safety officials quickly took measures to prevent any potential danger. Specialized teams were dispatched to the scene to capture the animal safely and bring it back to a safe place.
The story ended well because the train was able to start on time at 6:19 a.m. at Eupen station.
