For those who are not organized and would like to treat themselves to a weekend in last minute for the Grand Prix in the heart of Monaco and sleeping on site the night from Saturday to Sunday… you have to have your heart firmly set on discovering the prices charged. And the (big) means that go with it.
An observation already: the vast majority of hotels in the Principality are full. Logic for this weekend traditionally qualified as the busiest of the year. Only available on the Fairmont Monte-Carlo website, the 4-star hotel offers a room for the night from Saturday to Sunday at 15,990 euros! At this rate, the “Grand Prix Package” contains a king size bed, breakfast and access to the Fairmont’s roof terrace with a bird’s eye view of the eponymous bend.
Up to 18,810 euros for one night in a studio at Larvotto
Via Booking, the world’s leading online hotel reservation platform, by making a request to find a place to sleep the night of May 27 to 28 in Monaco, the search engine only offered five hits yesterday. And a stratospheric price range: 4,559 euros for a studio on the edge of Monaco; 14,000 euros to reserve a berth on board a yacht moored in the port of Fontvieille. Even more? 18,810 euros to book one night in a studio located in one of the buildings on Avenue Princesse Grace. And all this while leaving the premises on Sunday before noon.
Lunar prices which one even wonders if they might find (pigeon) takers… Unless you end up on a friend’s sofa, on the AirBnB platform this Friday appeared several more “honest” offers: 302 euros for a room in an apartment at the Franco-Monegasque border. Or 384 euros to rent a studio in Beausoleil for the night. We won’t find better!
There are a few places left for Saturday
If Sunday’s race is already sold out in the stands, there are still a few places on sale this Friday for this day on Saturday at various prices: from 70 euros to find a small space in the Rocher sector to 420 euros for the gold seat in grandstand K. In the meantime, tickets at 230 or 300 euros were still available in grandstand T.
