Riyadh: A cabinet meeting chaired by King Salman at Jeddah Al Salam Palace congratulated Rayana Al Barnawi and Ali Al Qarni, who arrived at the International Space Station for a historic achievement for the country.
The Cabinet wished the duo a successful mission and a safe return, hoping that space travel would help achieve scientific achievements to serve humanity and achieve the country’s aspirations and Vision 2030 goals.

The Cabinet felicitated the talented Saudi students who won awards at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fest (ISEF-2023) held in Texas, USA. More than 1,300 students from 70 countries participated in the fest, and Saudi students won 27 awards, including 23 major awards. The meeting assessed that this achievement is also the result of continuous government efforts to improve the quality of education and bring the Saudi educational system in line with best global practices.

The meeting discussed regional and international developments, including an assessment of the situation in Sudan. Acknowledging the country’s role in bringing the warring parties in Sudan to a short-term ceasefire agreement, the Cabinet welcomed the humanitarian arrangements made by the parties through the ceasefire agreement. The meeting expressed hope that the talks would bring a permanent end to hostilities and tensions and revitalize the political process.

The meeting also reviewed the declaration of the 32nd Arab Summit regarding the promotion of united and joint action to address the challenges and difficulties faced by the Arab world. The meeting reiterated the country’s constant interest in uniting the Arab world and its efforts to create conditions for stability and prosperity in the region.
