Grief in the TV world of sports.
As commentator Jörg Dahlmann (64) announced on Instagram, longtime “Sky” assistant Michael Morhardt († 55) died.
Dahlmann: “A person has left us who was perhaps my best friend. Michael was maybe the kindest man I’ve ever known.”
And further: “I’m incredibly sad regarding it. Michael, we will always think of you, but it’s still just horrible that you left us so soon.”
According to BILD information, Morhardt died on vacation in Mallorca due to a heart attack. He was known in the sports industry as a long-time assistant to “Sky” commentator Wolff-Christoph Fuss (46). Actually, Morhardt should be in action tomorrow at the game between Dortmund and Mainz, which Fuss annotates.
Foot to BILD: “It is unbelievable and incomprehensible for me. I’m shattered For almost 20 years he has been at my side in the stadiums of this world. As an assistant, as an editor, but above all as a friend. It will be weird, it will be different without him in Dortmund tomorrow. He would have taken it amiss if I declined. In this respect, tomorrow will be a special day in many respects. The best always go too soon!”
Numerous other people from the sports media world expressed their condolences under the Dahlmann contribution.
Commentator Marco Hagemann (46): “What?? I can not believe that! What a shit.. Michael, I’ll never forget our always very nice encounters.. Someday we’ll see each other once more..”
TV presenter Matthias Killing (43): “Oh my heavens. That’s horrible!!! What a fine fellow. Unbelievable…”
