ABU DHABI, May 26 / WAM / In 1990, the Spaniard Manuel Moller decided to open a publishing house specialized in copying rare manuscripts displayed only in the most prestigious museums and libraries around the world.
Today, following more than 30 years have passed since the publishing house gained great fame in the West, “Moliro” decided to display her works at the Abu Dhabi Book Fair.
Diego de Orbiola, representative of the Molero publishing house, told WAM that the publishing house seeks to make its works available to everyone, considering that this step protects them from disappearance and at the same time makes them benefit from them.
After Molero received an invitation to participate in the Abu Dhabi Book Fair, she decided to take advantage of that opportunity and open up to the markets in the region.
Urbiola says the company’s work is spread across the property of royal families, the Vatican Foundation or even being portrayed in famous films such as “The Name of the Rose” or the Spanish TV series “Isabel”. restricted environments and specific circumstances.
The company relies on limited editions, and Urbiola cites, for example, a book such as “El libro de las horas de Juana I de Castilla”, whose copies did not exceed 987 copies, and the prices of these manuscripts can reach 20 thousand euros per copy, but the prices vary. According to the work and investment required for each copy.
The rare manuscripts that are displayed in Abu Dhabi include “Miller’s Atlas”, which includes a set of maps of Portugal’s discoveries in 1591, where Australian beaches appear for the first time. The company also displays the work “El libro de la felicidad”, which dates back to the era of Sultan Murad III in 1574 , which belongs to the National Library of France.
Orbiola confirms that being in Abu Dhabi is an opportunity for the Spanish publishing house to open up to the UAE and the region.
