In a panel discussion, hosted by the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, and moderated by Dr. Berlant Cain, Director of Programs at the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, Dr. Khaled Ghattas celebrated his book “The Hypocrisy Was Beautiful”. The session was well received by the public, as Ghattas highlighted parts of the book, which includes short philosophical novels, that discuss the dilemmas of coping.

Khaled Ghattas: We have to shape life to enjoy the journey
The session was well received by the public, as Ghattas highlighted parts of the book, which includes short philosophical novels, that discuss social and individual dilemmas facing contemporary man, indicating that he seeks, through his attractive philosophical style, to motivate the reader; To reflect on what has become of his reality today in terms of loss of identity, excessive rationality, exaggeration in openness, addiction to technology, and other things that affect the essence of man and his inherent capabilities.
Ghattas said, in an exclusive interview with “Zahrat Al-Khaleej”, that the title “The Hypocrisy Was Beautiful” was inspired by the first story in the book, which talks regarding the crowding of identities, or the loss of identity that our societies face today, indicating that we need to preserve our values and identity, within Openness, acceptance and tolerance.
He praised the current session of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, considering that the organization and efforts made exceeded expectations, expressing his happiness at the audience’s celebration of it, especially the young age groups. He said: “The presence of children of rose age in the book fair heralds a better and better tomorrow.”
Ghattas stressed that he does not like portraying life as difficult or a crisis, but rather it is a journey that we have to enjoy in a certain way, and we have to shape it in a way that is in harmony with human nature, and that we have a message and a goal in this life away from oneself, so he said: “The person who lives without A goal that lacks a lot, as the goal pushes you to continue and give.”
He concluded his speech by saying: “When a writer presents himself to the public with a certain level of culture and sophistication, to bring regarding positive change in society, and he receives listening ears and public love, this is evidence of hope.”
