Vivendi still seems credible by 2024. (© Vivendi)
The sale of Vivendi shares on the market causes the stock market to fall
Its news:
surprise. Businessman Vincent Bolloré sold, on May 16, for just over 1.4 million shares
Vivendi
(i.e. 0.14% of the capital) at a unit price of 9.57 euros.
According to the document sent to the AMF, this operation was carried out via Compagnie de Cornouaille, owned by Vincent Bolloré. A sale on the market which led to a fall in Vivendi shares by 4%.
Our analysis
This sale shows that the Bolloré group probably wants to remain below the threshold of 30% of Vivendi’s capital in the context of the cancellations of securities scheduled for September 2023, judges analyst Jérôme Bodin, at Oddo BHF. Other title transfers might even take place in the coming days.
But, according to the analyst, a mandatory offer on Vivendi still seems credible by 2024. In short, the hypothesis of a takeover bid by Bolloré on Vivendi remains valid…but not immediately.
Patience on a title that is treading water in 2023.
Keep. [VIV] Objective: 9.50 euros. Profile: cautious.
Next meeting: half-year results, July 2023.
