“Bitcoin Stamps: The Next Big Thing in NFTs?”

2023-05-25 14:36:24

Is It Time for Bitcoin Stamps? The new Bitcoin NFT standard challenges the Ordinals protocol, which comes in at around nine million NFT, and also brings the SRC-20 standard following the BRC-20.

For Ordinals labels and BRC-20 economy much attention has recently been directed to its recent challenger, Bitcoin Stamps, is still relatively unknown to the general public. It can be seen from the data of RareStamp, that the technology exceeded 50,000 issued stamps today.

The names of the most popular stamp collections may sound familiar, in addition to a few new concepts, there were also reimaginings of popular names on other blockchains: Pixel Gods, 3GGS, Eternai Rare, Stamp Punks, Stamp Wizards, Stamp Pepes, Stamp Pepes Not and Classic Arcade are considered the “pull names” for now. For the time being, the technology is very rudimentary, you can mainly trade on the RareStamp website, and the new SRC-20 token standard was published in parallel with the stamps, which, like BRC-20, is responsible for issuing NFTs, defining their characteristics, and managing trading functions .

The other major Bitcoin Stamps collection site is a StampChain, which describes technology and its rudimentary nature as follows: “SRC-20 is a completely new protocol for Bitcoin Stamps. We’re working hard on building indexing tools and partnering with marketplaces, but we’re still in the early stages, so you won’t see these tokens in your wallet for now.”

The mentioned sites also have a coin issuing function and provide other utilities for issuing new NFTs and coins. According to available statistics, there are currently more than 300 SRC-20 coins available. SRC-20 tokens include names such as “kevin”, “stamp”, “pepe”, “bobo”, “shib”, “punks” and “rare”.

Reliable data on the market value of the SRC-20 economy are not yet available, but the much more developed BRC-20 economy has already reached nearly half a billion dollars. In addition to BRC-20 and SRC-20, the Dogecoin network also came up with its own very similar standard, which was named DRC-20. Sufficiently risk-tolerant NFT traders can start placing their bets, because something is definitely brewing in this market as well.
