Subsidies, taxes, corruption… What Alassane Ouatarra promised to the IMF – Jeune Afrique

On May 24, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved – unsurprisingly – an agreement in favor of Côte d’Ivoire, allowing the country led by Alassane Ouattara to receive approximately $3.5 billion in assistance over a 40-month period.

For the Ivorian side, this commitment is the result of the efforts of the Prime minister, Patrick Achiand several members of his government, but also the vice-president, Tiémoko Meyliet Konéand his chief of staff, Emmanuel Ahoutoua framework experienced in negotiations with the IMF, as well asAbdourahmane Cissegeneral secretary of the presidency.
