KOUNDÉ SPEAKS ON SOCIAL NETWORKS
In recent days, rumors had gained weight that Jules Koundé had given an ‘ultimatum’ to Xavi Hernández and FC Barcelona because, apparently, he did not want to continue playing as a right back. He has taken a step back in his performance and his first year as a Barça player has been full of ups and downs, but finally the Frenchman has denied all the rumours.
This Thursday, through a forceful message on his social networks, the former Sevilla has clarified any type of rumour: He is not in favor of leaving Barcelona and at no time has he asked the club for facilities to leavedespite the fact that in the last hours there were many rumors that there were already teams interested in him, such as Chelsea and Manchester United.
Koundé clarifies his future
On his Twitter account, he wrote that “To be clear: at no time did I ask to go out, therefore I am not going anywhere”, he sentenced, insisting on his willingness to continue dressing as a Barça player a year following his arrival from Sevilla for 50 million euros. He still has a lot to prove under Xavi Hernández and he hopes to do it from the center back position.
And it is that although Koundé was trained as a right back in the Girondins de Bordeaux II and also played in that position for Sevilla and the France team, it’s not where he feels most comfortable. In Andalusia he took off as a center back and, since then, is where he has stood out the most. In fact, in the summer the Catalans signed him to be part of a ‘lethal’ center-back pairing with Ronald Araújo, but given the great needs of the club he was displaced.
Discarded the rumors with Koundé
Thus, it is ruled out that this summer there will be a ‘Koundé case’, despite the fact that in recent days it had been reported that, even, from Barcelona they had put a price of 80 million euros to let him out. As we mentioned before, both Chelsea and Manchester United had appeared as the first interested in their services, but now everything seems ruled out.
