The traffic authorities warned that since ten o’clock at night on Wednesday, May 24, an order was a preventive closure on the road to the coast due to a scour that occurred in Tarazá.
Being a total restriction, the authorities recommended to travelers schedule tours in advance and take alternate routes.
“Preventive closures of the Yarumal sector are presentedjurisdiction of the municipality of Yarumal km 26, and sector Hospital km 61 jurisdiction of the municipality of Caucasiadue to a partial sinkhole under the road, in the sector of Puerto Antioquia, jurisdiction of Tarazá, km 114, which leads to the preventive closure of the road, in order to guarantee the safety of users,” reported the Sectional De Traffic and Transportation Antioquia of the Police.
As advised by that institution, the two routes that drivers can take to avoid the total closure are Medellin – Santa Fe de Antioquia – Urabá y Medellin – Cisneros – Puerto Berrio.
For its part, the National Institute of Roads (Invías), in charge of the operation of this corridor, indicated during the early hours of this Thursday morning that the authorities are working to restore the passage as soon as possible.
