After 20 months of travel, the Audois has come a long way, crossing Thailand, Cambodia, Viet-Nam, Laos and then suddenly Japan where he spent a month celebrating his 30 years. His mother Françoise, no longer able to stand it, had decided to come and join him in the United States by offering him a little holiday aboard a van. During the first half of May, our globetrotter put his little queen in the closet and the two traveled 3800km in the American West. A small portion of route 66, the grand canyon, the Navajo reservation, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, many parks in the middle of the desert. “Breathtaking landscapes, gigantism as only the United States can provide”, raves Françoise on her return. A loop with an obligatory passage to Las Vegas and its bling bling side that the mother and son very moderately appreciated, as did the return to Los Angeles where luxury rubs shoulders with the homeless without shame. If Françoise left her son for whom she has boundless admiration, Maxime took her on a flight to connect Anchorage in Alaska. With this adventurer, nothing is ever really defined in advance. Maxime might continue his world tour by crossing Canada from West to East then descending towards Mexico, Central America, South America as far as Ushuia. A plane jump to reach Cape Town in South Africa and return from this continent by the eastern part. The Mediterranean, Italy or Spain, he has scheduled his return for the start of the Paris Olympics in the summer of 2024 following nearly 3 years of this fabulous adventure.
