True to his style, it was the farewell to the outstanding national poet Erick Pohlhammer, who passed away this Monday at the age of 68. The great friend of him, Julio Cesar Rodriguez shared how it was part of his funeral.
The author died months following being diagnosed with a brain cancer that kept him away from public activity.
Since the news broke, Rodríguez has expressed his pain at the departure of Pohlhammer, with whom he worked for years on several of his programs. Without God, Nor Late and Follow Me The Good Ones.
“Bye dear!!! Don’t go to my funeral with a funeral face… This is how we say goodbye to Don Érick Poll HAPPY!” wrote the CHV animator, along with a series of images.
In the publication you can see the wake of Eric Pohlhammer where he appears, those present are seen dancing to the rhythm of the music.
The funeral of the “poet of happiness” was held this Tuesday at the Parque del Recuerdo cemetery and was attended by friends, family and former co-workers, including former participants of the reality show Generaciones Cruzadas José Miguel Puyol and Aynara Eder.
“I expected it to be a funeral like this, with people applauding and playing the harmonica because we came to celebrate Erick,” Rodríguez told LUN.
Julio César Rodríguez also revealed that the tumor that affected Erick Pohlhammer was very aggressive and fast. “For a long time I felt that my humor did not fit into formal and current programs and Erick always instilled in me that this was going to make me stand out, not to compromise,” he closed.
