[세종=뉴스핌] Reporter Lee Tae-seong = The installation of the Nuri launch pad, which was delayed ahead of schedule due to a sudden shower on the followingnoon of the 23rd, ended.

According to the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, the installation of the launch pad for the Nuri was completed at 9:14 pm on the same day.

Initially, the installation of the Nuri launch pad was planned to be completed before 7:00 pm on the same day. However, the project was delayed for 2 hours and 14 minutes due to a sudden shower in the followingnoon at the Naro Space Center in Goheung-gun, South Jeolla Province, where the launch pad is located.

During the installation of the launch pad, which took place this followingnoon, preparations for the launch, such as connecting the umbilical for charging propellants such as fuel and oxidizer, and checking airtightness, were carried out.

As the launch pad installation work was completed, the Ministry of Science and Technology held a launch management committee at 9:00 pm to check the weather conditions and launch preparations.

The launch management committee announced the results of the inspection this evening, saying, “As a result of checking the launch preparation status, such as the transfer and standing of the Nuri, it was confirmed that the preparation work was being carried out normally without any unusual issues.”

“It was analyzed that the weather conditions at the Naro Space Center tomorrow, the day of launch, would also satisfy the weather conditions for launch,” he added. “The possibility of lightning strikes on the flight trajectory was also observed to be very low.”

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Administration, the probability of precipitation tomorrow followingnoon in Bongnae-myeon, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, where the Naro Space Center is located, is around 20%, and the wind is less than 5m/sec.

With this, all preparations for the Nuriho, one day before the launch, came to an end.

When the last launch management committee is held tomorrow followingnoon, the day of the launch, it will be decided whether to charge the Nuri with propellant, such as fuel and oxidizer.

The final launch time is also finally decided at this time, and technical preparations, weather conditions, space environment, and the possibility of collision with space objects are comprehensively reviewed.

If this process proceeds without any major variables occurring, the Nuri will be launched at 6:24 pm on the 24th.
