Announced in December 2021 during The Game Awards, Alan Wake 2 remains a very mysterious game. Since the official reveal, little has been said regarding the title and fans haven’t been given much information. Even with the lack of news, as it is a weighty name, the title is highly anticipated by many players.
Until now, the survival horror developed by Remedy did not even have a release window or any kind of forecast, however, the situation has changed due to a statement by Matthew Porretta, voice actor of the game.
Alan Wake 2 may arrive in October 2023
While Remedy continues to make a virtually absolute mystery regarding its new game, voice actor Matthew Porretta ended up revealing important information, probably saying a lot more than he should.
During a conversation on the Monsters, Madness And Magic podcast, Matthew Porreta cited October 2023 as the month reserved for the survival horror release. Porretta even stated that he is in the middle of work and revealed that last week he was at the Remedy studios. Check it out below.
I’m working on it — this was supposed to come out in October, so we’re in the middle of work right now. I was actually in Finland last week — that’s where the company, Remedy, is located.
Stating that he signed an NDA term, which proves that perhaps he revealed too much during the podcast, Matthew Porretta stated that he cannot give more details regarding the new title, as everything is in complete secrecy. Alan Wake will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC.

If Alan Wake 2 actually releases in 2023, it will be another one of the big horror titles of the year. In January, we had the release of the excellent Dead Space Remake, which improved the original title and delivered a very satisfactory result.
Already in March, the world received Resident Evil 4 Remake, which also followed a successful path, achieving an excellent reception and being considered one of the best titles of the year. It is also worth remembering that there are still those who believe in the release of Silent Hill 2 Remake in 2023.
