According to the EAR – Global Radio survey by Médiamétrie, which analyzes digital radio listening behavior for January-March 2023, the medium reaches 9.3 million people on digital media, (16.7% of 13 years and over) i.e. 502,000 more listeners in 1 year.
This increase in radio listening on digital media is driven by the mobile phone, the leading digital medium for listening to the radio, with 5.6 million followers daily, as well as by voice-activated speakers. The latter attract 1.4 million listeners every day and are ahead of the computer in terms of the daily number of users to listen to the radio.
Listening to radio on digital media particularly appeals to 35-49 year olds (22.4% each day), CSP+ (24.9%) and Ile-de-France residents (20.1%).
Listening time is 2h12 on average per day and per listener on digital media.
The share of digital media in radio listening is still progressing significantly: it now stands at 19.9% of total listening volume compared to 18.6% last year.
