He left Friday evening from Koniakow in Poland and set foot this Saturday in the Dutch town of Eijsden, near Fourons, following crossing 15 countries.

The world record for the most countries in one day was held by Italian Valerio Boni until last year. He had traveled 11 countries in less than 24 hours. Thierry Sarasyn broke this record for the first time last year by visiting 13 countries in one day.

“The goal was to visit 14 countries, but when I entered Belgium in less than 20 hours, I realized that it was possible to visit 15 countries,” said Mr Sarasyn. A year later, it’s now done.

On a Kawasaki Versys 1000, he successively checked off Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium and finally the Netherlands.
