The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that, “In implementation of the directives of the wise leadership, Bahrain has decided to resume diplomatic representation at the level of ambassadors with Lebanon, in order to strengthen the brotherly relations between the two countries, the two brotherly peoples, and mutual respect.”
She pointed out that it comes “in accordance with the principles of the Charter of the League of Arab States, and the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.”
This comes a day following the conclusion of the Arab League summit in the Saudi city of Jeddah, which adopted the Jeddah Declaration, which stipulated a number of decisions, including solidarity with Lebanon and urging all Lebanese parties to dialogue to elect a president of the republic that satisfies the aspirations of the Lebanese, regular work of constitutional institutions and approval of the reforms required to expel Lebanon.
