As promised, pre-orders of the fighting game Mortal Kombat 1 started on May 19 on PC and consoles. The option is not available in Russia, but this is not the only thing that can be learned from this situation.
In particular, on the Mortal Kombat 1 page in digital distribution services Steam and Epic Games Store (neither one nor the other can be opened from a Russian account) system requirements are given.
For a game that comes out on current generation consoles, the “appetites” are surprisingly modest: an Intel Core i5-6600 level processor, 8 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 video card are enough to run.
Mortal Kombat 1 system requirements are as follows:
Minimum Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 (64 bit);
- Processor: Intel Core i5-6600 (3.3 GHz), AMD Ryzen 3 3100 (3.6 GHz) or Ryzen 5 2600 (3.4 GHz);
- graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980, AMD Radeon RX 470 or Intel Arc A750;
- RAM: 8 GB;
- DirectX: 12;
- disk space: 100 GB.
Recommended Requirements
- OS: Windows 10, 11 (64 bit);
- processor: Intel Core i5-8400 (2.8 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X (3.8 GHz);
- graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT or Intel Arc A770;
- RAM: 8 GB;
- DirectX: 12;
- disk space: 100 GB.
What resolution and performance targets correspond to the above minimum and recommended configurations, the developers of Mortal Kombat 1 did not specify.
In addition, the Steam description states that Mortal Kombat 1 will receive support for 12 languages, including Russian (subtitles only). For comparison: for some reason, only English is declared in the Epic Games Store.
Mortal Kombat 1 will go on sale September 19 for PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch. According to a leak from Italian Amazon, Kombat Pack 1 will include six fighters and five helper characters (cameos).
